Simone Kirst

Postdoctoral Researcher

I am particularly interested in the effectiveness and therapeutic potential of technology-based interventions for people with limited social and emotional abilities, such as autism or social anxiety. For example, I developed the digital training "Zirkus Empathico" and demonstrated its effectiveness and feasibility in a multi-centre randomised controlled trial (RCT). I am currently focussing on the joint project "DIVAN Kids", which aims to develop a digital and gamified application for the treatment of children with anxiety disorders. I am also responsible for the clinical evaluation of the Selfapy online course "Chronic Pain". In all my projects, I collaborate with scientific and industrial partners, and I particularly enjoy the exchange with (game) designers and developers.

Outside of work, I cycle a lot, go on excursions into nature and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also like travelling, preferably by train through Europe.
