PhD Candidate

My research focuses on the potential of high-ventilation breathwork for psychotherapy. In our current research project, we are investigating the clinical and neurobiological mechanisms of psychotherapy-supported breathwork in major depression. A particular focus of my work is the systematic investigation of the safety of breathwork in clinical and non-clinical populations. In addition, I am involved in research projects on autism spectrum conditions, including studies on visual face processing and the evaluation of an individualized cognitive behavioral therapy program (SPECTRAA). The active involvement of people with lived experience and their relatives in the research process (Patient and Public Involvement) is particularly important to me. Methodologically, I work with various neuroscientific techniques (e.g., EEG, fMRI, simultaneous EEG-fMRI). I am also a member of the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG).

In my free time, I enjoy playing the violin in an orchestra and spending time with friends and family.
